Some of my juniors and I met Fred Couples when I took them to watch the Australian Open at the Lakes Golf Club.
Watching A Live Golf Game: How To Pick The Best Viewing Spot
One of the most important aspects of attending a live golf tournament is to effectively set up your viewing plan so that you can enjoy watching exactly what you came to see – the game!
Too many golf fans do not strategically plan their stake-out areas. Either they miss out on their favorite players and incredible swings, or they are overcrowded and cannot move or see anything.
My Favorite Viewing Plan
There are several ways to choose how to watch a live golf game. What I like to do is select two or three professional golfers that I admire and concentrate on them for the entire day.
The key is to get a “pairing sheet” which tells you the exact time that specific golfers will be teeing off. There is usually plenty of time in between each of my favorite pros. This provides me with enough viewing pleasure to at least see one golfer's 1st five or six holes before moving on to the next professional.

The Wind Is Your Friend
The wind is an ever-present challenge virtually every time you play golf. And whether it is merely a gentle breeze or a strong and gusting wind, you have to know how to play it.
Playing Into The Wind
Playing Downwind
When playing downwind, take a less lofted club and swing easier. Don't take the same club and try to ease up on the shot – you will probably miss-hit.
Also off the tee, consider taking a 3 wood off the tee, rather than a driver. The extra height will allow you to benefit more from the tailwind and thus gain distance.
Playing The Crosswind
When playing with a crosswind, tour professionals will often work shots into the wind. For instance, hitting a draw into a left-to-right wind because they feel it gives them more control over distance and spin. |

The modern golf era, which I would say started in the 1960’s, all had putters used by players that were similar to one another. All of the styles, putter lengths, and weights were all alike.
The shaft was upright and connected to the hosel, which connects the close-end of the putter-head. The putter-head was usually a blade-type which made them look just like irons accept for the steep face in which the function was to allow the ball to roll on the ground.
The traditional putter is still the most popular putter used by both professional golfers and regular players like you and I. The shortest club in the golf bag, the traditional putter became created from various materials – stainless steal, wood, copper and aluminum.
The appearance may come in a smooth metal color, metallic or an unfinished appearance. Some traditional putters are painted and others may have materials built into the sweet spot of the face which allows the player to get a better connection and feel when contact is made. |
